1. What is my nephew's balance in this inmate
account? What does my brother owe for his inmate account?
Answer: We can't give out a balance or say if it is positive or
negative. This not permitted by law.
2. I sent a money order for $100.00 to my
boyfriend's account last Tuesday. Did you receive it?
Answer: Yes, we did receive it on X date.
3. My son was released two days ago. He has
$150.00 in his inmate account. He needs it to buy groceries.
Why can't we just come up there and get it?
Answer: We place a 14 day hold on money orders or checks for $100.00
or more to ensure we receive credit.
4. I sent 4 money orders for $25.00 each for my
girlfriends account. Why is there a hold on these since they
are less than $100.00.
Answer: Our $100 14 day hold rule can not be avoided by breaking
down the amount into several money orders or check for lesser
amounts.
5. Why can't I come to the Sheriff's office and pick
up a check for money that was released from an inmate account?
Answer: Our practice is always to mail the check for the amount of
money released to the address on file This is an internal
financial control. Our policy is not to provide delivery of
the check by coming to pick it up, as this creates more challenges
to ensure proper controls are in place.
6. If I have money in my
own inmate account can I come and pick it up?
Answer: Balances can be picked up any time day or night at the
book-in window for your own account
7. Does the PCSO
charge inmates a charge per day? What are your book in fee?
Answer: We do not charge per day and we
charge $29.14 per book in ($25 book in fees and $4.14 for hygiene
kits). Any charges not paid on a previous account will be
rolled forward. |
