W/M, age 27 (12-4-41).  On 12/04/78, at 7:30 p.m., the victim was following his wife from Lakeland Blood Bank in a separate vehicle.  The wife stopped and picked up a hitchhiker on S. Florida Ave and was supposed to drop him off at I-4 on Highway 98.  The hitchhiker pulled a knife on the wife just north of I-4 on Highway 98 near the Foxfire Restaurant and attempted to steal the car.  The victim stopped behind his wife’s car. As he was standing at the driver’s door of his wife’s vehicle, he began fighting with the hitchhiker, who drove off, dragging the victim under the vehicle and running over him.  The hitchhiker then lost control of the vehicle, which overturned across from the Foxfire.  The hitchhiker then fled on foot.
