Name: Tommy Eugene Smith 
Discovery Date: 10/11/1996 
Case Description

Tommy Smith, age 37, was a nursing supervisor for Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was last seen by his brother at their parents’ home at approximately 8:45 p.m. on October 10, 1996. At about 10:20 that same evening, Smith’s vehicle, a 1984 Jeep Wagoneer with wood grain paneling, was seen along the side of the road at Berkley & I-4. His vehicle was still there the next morning at 5:45 a.m.

Later that evening, a couple walking beside a grove on Edison Rd., in Polk City, found Tommy’s body. He had been murdered and left in the orange grove.

A witness (drawn below) is needed for questioning:

  • Age: mid 30's - 40's

  • Build: Large

  • Hair: Dark, Curly
