The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) consists of designated deputies and detention deputies who have been specially trained in crisis negotiations.  The mission of CNT is to provide a ready response to situations beyond the capabilities of normally equipped and trained deputies in both law enforcement and detention.

CNT may be deployed to supplement other law enforcement operational components in crisis situations such as a barricaded subject, search warrants, suicidal subjects or any incident where trained negotiators would be beneficial.
