The Administrative Investigations Section is staffed with one (1) Sergeant, four (4) sworn/certified Inspectors, one (1) Secretary, and one (1) Clerical Assistant. This section protects the integrity of the Polk County Sheriff's Office and all agency members by maintaining a formalized system for receiving, processing, and investigating all administrative complaints and allegations against the agency and its members. The agency’s Citizen Complaint Policy is to thoroughly and expeditiously investigate all administrative complaints involving the agency and agency members.

The Administrative Investigations Section primary mission is to establish and maintain the integrity of the Sheriff’s Office and its members, maintain the confidence of the citizens of Polk County, and to protect the public from unprofessional conduct by agency members as a part of the agency's legal and ethical responsibility to its members and the citizens of Polk County.

This is accomplished, in part, by conducting fair and unbiased administrative investigations of alleged agency and/or employee misconduct and by also maintaining ongoing contact with the citizens of Polk County to determine their level of satisfaction with agency members and services provided by the agency.
