Announcement for the unincorporated area of Kathleen, Gibsonia and Rockridge Communities, from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Polk County Waste Resource Management and Keep Polk County Beautiful, encouraging all residents to participate in the upcoming “Clean It Up to Green It Up” event.  This event is for the unincorporated/county residents only and will be held this Saturday, November 8th. Residents of these unincorporated areas are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this program that will consist of a large scale trash pick-up.  On this day only, this program will provide disposal of items that are not generally collected with residential garbage such as household construction debris, like shingles, drywall, etc.  Absolutely no tires or hazardous waste will be collected.  All households in the unincorporated areas of Kathleen, Gibsonia and Rockridge are asked to participate by placing these items by the curb, no later than 8 a.m., for this one day event. 
In addition, residents are asked to join Keep Polk County Beautiful at the Lake Gibson High School, 7007 N. Socrum Loop Road, for a FREE Tire Recycling Event from 8:00 a.m. to 12-noon.  Tires must be standard vehicle size only.  Participants must show photo ID/proof of Polk County residency, to take advantage of the free disposal.  Waste Tire Hauling limits will be strictly enforced.  Residents may contact Keep Polk County Beautiful in advance for quantity exceptions.  Trash and tire collection services are provided by Republic Services.  For additional information on this “Clean It Up to Green It Up” Pilot program contact Keep Polk County Beautiful, Inc. at 863-875-8911.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is actively searching for a W/M suspect who has been in the area of Lakeland Highlands Road at Broken Arrow, Groveglen, and Peterson Roads in south Lakeland.  He is believed to be 20 to 30 years of age, with sandy blond shoulder length hair and possibly wearing lightly tinted wire framed glasses.  The suspect was observed September 10th, on 3 separate occasions sitting in a vehicle performing a sexual act on himself.  The suspect has been described as wearing a grey sleeveless t-shirt and no clothing on his lower body.  The suspect was seen in what has been described as a white older model Toyota Corolla or Camry with black molding.  The Sheriff’s Office asks if you see this vehicle in your neighborhood or see a man fitting this description sitting in this vehicle to call 9-1-1 immediately.  Please do not approach this person, just observe, and call the PCSO immediately.

Community message from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Waste Resource Management inviting all residents of the Unincorporated areas of Polk City to participate in the Large Scale “Clean it up to Green it up” event this Saturday, May 18th from 8 a.m. to 12-noon by placing trash by your curbside no later than 8 a.m. This program will provide disposal of items NOT generally collected with your regular garbage pick-ups; such as remodeling and household construction debris, shingles, drywall, wood, fencing, cabinets etc.  NO hazardous waste or tires will be collected at curbside, but a “Free” Tire Recycling Event is open to the public at Polk City - City Hall, 123 Broadway Blvd., SE this date 5/18 from 8-12 noon.  ONLY Polk County Residents may discard up to 10 standard vehicle sized tires at this event, so please bring your ID.  Both services the Curbside Cleanup and Tire Recycling will be provided by Republic Services.  Any additional questions, call Keep Polk County Beautiful at 863-676-7019.
