Impounded Raccoon tests POSITIVE for Rabies
News Story
Urgent message from the Polk County Sheriff’s Animal Control Section advising residents a raccoon was impounded on Sunday, April 29th from the 6800 Block of Broken Arrow Trail in Lakeland. Be advised that today, May 2nd the raccoon was confirmed Positive for RABIES from the State Laboratory. Please make sure your pets are currently vaccinated for rabies and report any suspicious acting animals to the Polk County Animal Control Section at 863-499-2600.
