Raccoon tests Positive for RABIES
News Story
Urgent message from the Polk County Sheriff’s Animal Control Section advising residents a raccoon was impounded on Friday, May 11th from the 1100 Block of Sand Mountain Road in Fort Meade. Be advised that today, May 16th the raccoon was confirmed Positive for RABIES from the State Laboratory. Please make sure your pets are currently vaccinated for rabies and report any suspicious acting animals to the Polk County Animal Control Section at 863-499-2600.
