Be AWARE - Scam phone calls-posing as debt collectors
News Story
An informational message from the Polk County Sheriff's Office to make residents aware there have been phone solicitation scams in your area where callers are posing as someone trying to collect a debt by seeking personal information. Please be very vigilant to whom you provide any personal or financial information to, and always check with your financial institution, credit union or bank before supplying any account or personal data to a random caller. Should you feel you have been the victim of such a scam, please call the Polk County Sheriff's Office to make a report at 863-298-6200. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.
