News Story

Polk County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Polk County Waste Resource Management & Keep Polk County Beautiful for the ELOISE Community. Encouraging all residents to take part in the upcoming CLEAN IT UP TO GREEN IT UP event, Saturday, February 15th.  This “special” large-scale trash pick-up is a ONE-morning only event to retrieve remodeling & household construction debris such as shingles & drywall, which are not normally collected on regular trash days.  All items must be placed at curbside NO later than 8 a.m., or better yet the night before, to partake in this “Clean Sweep” pickup.  Please Note: NO TIRES or Hazardous items will be allowed at the curbside for pickup, BUT, there will be a Free Tire recycling event on the same date, February 15th from 8-12 noon at Phoenix Industries located at 621 Snively Avenue.  For tire recycling limits and questions, contact KPCB before the event or see them during the event to answer any trash or recycling questions plus provide informational items and residents with a recycling bin, if needed.  Trash collection services are provided by a generous donation from Republic Services, and for additional information on the Clean It Up to Green It Up Pilot program, tire recycling or if/when a program is scheduled for your community, contact Keep Polk County Beautiful at 863-676-7019 or email:
