Clean-It-Up to Green-It-Up & Tire Recycling Event on March 1st; 8-10/Trash, 8-noon/Tire Recycling

News Story

Polk County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Polk County Waste Resource Management & Keep Polk County Beautiful for the WAHNETA & Bomber Road Community; encouraging all residents to take part in the upcoming CLEAN IT UP TO GREEN IT UP event, so Mark Your Calendars for next Saturday, March 1st.  This “special” large-scale trash pick-up is a ONE-morning only event to retrieve remodeling & household construction debris such as shingles & drywall, which are not normally collected on regular trash days.  All items must be placed at curbside NO later than 8 a.m., or better yet the night before, to partake in this “Clean Sweep” pickup.  Please Note: NO TIRES or Hazardous items will be allowed at the curbside for pickup, BUT, there will be a Free Tire recycling event on the same date, Saturday, March 1st from 8-12 noon at Centro Guadalupano Church located at 2150 Bomber Road. For tire recycling limits and questions, contact KPCB before the event; or see them during the event to answer any trash or recycling questions plus provide informational items and residents with a recycling bin, if needed. Trash collection services are provided by a generous donation from Republic Services.  For additional information on the Clean It Up to Green It Up Pilot program, tire recycling or if a program is scheduled for your community, contact Keep Polk County Beautiful at 863-676-7019.
