Information is being sought on the October 10, 1996, armed robbery of a convenience store clerk at the Hop 'N Save, located at 4718 U.S. Highway 98 North, near Lakeland. At approximately 10:10 p.m., the suspect entered the store, confronted the clerk with a hypodermic needle and demanded money. The victim was stabbed in his left forearm with the needle after giving the perpetrator the money from the stores cash register. The suspect is described as being a black male in his late teens or early 20s. He is about 5'10" tall, weighing 150 pounds and has short black hair. He was wearing a dirty-white T-shirt and blue jeans. Polk County Sheriffs Office, Northwest District, detectives are in charge of the investigation. |
