Polk County Crime Stoppers

Polk County Sheriff's Office, Central District, detectives are investigating a series of residential burglaries and attempted burglaries that have occurred this week in the Polk City and Auburndale areas.

During these incidents the perpetrators(s) would target homes with lawn and gardening equipment, including lawn mowers, weed-eaters, and tools. The targeted homes have included equipment which has been stored in utility sheds and garages.

The residential areas have included homes along Debbie and Flint Drives, Lake Juliana Boulevard and Meadow Oak.

A dark-colored short-bed pickup truck with loud mufflers has been seen and heard in the areas prior to the reported thefts.

 A reward of up to $1,000 may be awarded for information leading to the arrest or indictment of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at
