Polk County Sheriff's Office, West Region, detectives are seeking a black male suspect wanted for the Sunday, Feb. 9, 1997, armed robbery of a convenience store clerk.

At approximately 1:20 p.m. the suspect entered the Get-N-Go convenience store, located at 2805 Shepherd Road, south of Lakeland. After taking a package of sweet rolls to the counter, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the store’s cash register. He also stole several packs of cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens or early 20s and 5'10" to 6' tall. He was wearing a black cap, white T-shirt and long black pants.

 A reward of up to $1,000 may be awarded for information leading to the arrest or indictment of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at
