Polk County Sheriff's Office, West Region, detectives are seeking two suspects wanted for a home invasion that occurred on Jan. 16, 1997, at a residence located off Byron Court, near Lakeland.

At approximately 11:50 p.m. an 18-year-old woman dialed 9-1-1 after hearing loud banging noises near her carport door. While on the telephone with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, two suspects entered her living room through the front door and accosted the woman, her two infant children, and a young niece. One of the suspects hit the woman over her head with a handgun and then dragged her to a back bedroom forcing her to lay on the floor while the room was ransacked.

The black male suspects are described as being in their late teens or early 20s, 5'10"-6' tall. One of the suspect weighed about 150 pounds and was wearing a camouflage jacket with a dark-colored hood, and camouflage pants. The second suspect wore a green hooded sweat shirt and black pants.

 A reward of up to $1,000 may be awarded for information leading to the arrest or indictment of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at
