Polk County Sheriff's Office, West Region, detectives are seeking 23-year-old Reynaldo Vazquez for his involvement in the Saturday, July 26, 1997, shooting which injured three Lakeland men. Vazquez is being sought on charges including Att. Second Degree Murder with Firearm (Enhanced), two counts Aggravated Battery with Firearm (Enhanced) and Discharging a Firearm in Public.

The three men were shot during an early morning altercation in the front yard of a residence located at 1017 Waynesville Ave., near Lakeland,. Shot were Jeff Smith, 29, Mike Mathis, 32, and Phillip Hoffman, 29. Smith sustained a gunshot wound to the face , and Mathis and Hoffman sustained less serious injuries.

Vazquez is described as a Mexican male, 6'2" tall, weighing 210 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
