A. Myers, 38, of Winter Haven is being sought in
connection with the Sunday, September 21, 1997 attempted
murder of James M. Powell, 38. At approximately 8 p.m.
the two roommates were involved in an argument over Myers
owing Powell rent money.
During a physical altercation between the two men Powell was hit and stabbed several times, the most severe of which included a stab wound to his abdomen. This altercation occurred at the mens shared residence located at 506 Sydney Circle, Winter Haven. Powell was transported to Winter Haven Hospital where he was treated and released.
Myers is described as being white male, 5'11" tall, weighing 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Myers was last seen driving a Ford van maroon in color with a light-colored stripe. Det. Lonnie Tanner of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, East Region, is in charge of the investigation.
