Polk County Crime Stoppers

Polk County Sheriff's Office, East Region, detectives are seeking assistance in an investigation involving the grand theft of 10 boat motors.

The 10 motors, all of a Mercury make with 115 to 200 horsepower V-6, are believed to have been stolen between 6:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 1997, and 7:00 AM on Saturday, November 8, 1997, from Hoppy's Marine, located at 4015 U.S. Highway 27 South, near Haines City.

The suspect(s) are believed to have entered the fenced-in compound by cutting the southeast back corner fence and left by exiting the front gate. The cumulative value of the boot motors is estimated at approximately $100,000.
