being sought on the July 6, 1998, armed robbery at the Island Food Store, located at 4290
Alt. U.S. Highway 27 North, near Lake Wales. Around 1:30 a.m., a W/M suspect entered the
store and bought bubble gum and then left. A short time later the W/M suspect and another
W/M suspect entered the store together. The original man walked down one of the aisles
while the second man walked over to the counter and demanded money. He reached over the
counter and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. Suspect #1 has
blonde shoulder length hair, is about 5'11" tall weighing about 170 pounds. Suspect
#2 has black hair, blue eyes, mustache and sideburns. He is about 5'11" tall,
weighing about 180 pounds. Det. Rodney Chauncey of the Polk County Sheriff's Office is in
charge of the investigation.
