19990105-1.gif (10125 bytes)Detectives are seeking information regarding the deliberate killing of a mute swan on Monday (January 4, 1999) at Lake Morton in Lakeland.

The swan was seen being kicked by a suspect, described as being a white male in his early 20s, about 5'10" tall, and weighing 185 pounds. He had medium- length brown hair and wore a rust-colored flannel shirt over a gray sweat shirt or T-shirt. He was seen driving a white full-size pickup, probably a late-model Ford, with an extended cab.

Lakeland Police Department is in charge of the investigation.

 A reward of up to $1,000 may be awarded for information leading to the arrest or indictment of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS. Anonymity is Guaranteed!
