Alfredo EscobarMan Wanted for Questioning in Homicide

Polk County Sheriff's Office Detectives are searching for a man wanted for questioning in a homicide that occurred earlier this month. Alfredo Escobar, DOB 2/16/70, last known address of 151 Tilden Lane in Davenport, is wanted for questioning in the homicide of Jose Mejia - whose body was found May 8, 1999, in a wooded area east of Haines City by a man collecting cans. Escobar also is wanted on four warrants: FTA Battery, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia; FTA DUI; Dealing in Stolen Property; and FTA Criminal Mischief. Escobar is considered armed and dangerous. He may possibly be driving one of the following vehicles: a gray Buick, a black truck or 1976 red Dodge truck. Detectives are requesting assistance in locating Escobar - who also uses the name "Jesse." Anyone with information concerning the possible location of Escobar is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 533-0444.
