Tow Truck Used in TheftTow Truck Used in Cash Machine Theft
Polk County Sheriff's Office Property Unit Detectives are investigating the theft of cash from a coin change machine early this morning from a Lakeland car wash. At approximately 4:11 a.m. this morning, a white tow truck backed up to a coin change machine at the Performance Car Wash located at 3855 US Highway 98 South. Two white male suspects hooked a cable to the coin machine and ripped the face of the machine off, removing an undisclosed amount of coins and bills from the machine before fleeing the scene. A security camera captured the image to the left of the suspect truck, described as a white tow truck with light bars on top and undetermined lettering on the side. Detectives are requesting assistance in locating possible suspects. Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward is asked to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
