Polk County Sheriff's Office Detectives are searching for 28-year-old Winter Haven resident Gumaro Esparza Luebano for kidnapping his ex-wife and two others late Saturday night. The ex-wife, 26-year-old Natividad Marie Lopez of Auburndale, and the suspect are still missing. The two other victims returned home after being released by the suspect. At approximately 11 p.m. Saturday (April 22, 2000) the three victims arrived at their Auburndale residence and were confronted by the suspect who was armed with a handgun. The suspect threatened the victims and ordered them to get into their vehicle. The suspect then drove the victims to Lake County, and eventually to Deltona, where he ordered his ex-wife out of the car at an unknown location prior to releasing the other two victims, who then returned to Polk. Lopez remains missing at this time. Detectives are seeking any information that might lead to the victim's and/or suspect's location.
Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward is asked to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
