Polk County Crime Stoppers

Polk County Sheriff's Office Agricultural Deputies are investigating the theft of numerous Hydraulic Rotary Actuators, or Rotacs, stolen from Peterson Industries in Lake Wales. A Rotac, pictured here on the left, is the gear drive used in grove goat/loader equipment.  The 150 pound gear drive is approximately 2 ft. around by 2 ft. long and is made specifically for use in grove goat/loading machinery. The 10 Rotacs were reported stolen on March 23, 2001 from Peterson Industries located at 446 US Highway 27 North, in Lake Wales. The model number of the stolen Rotacs is HA36 and the 10 Rotacs are worth an estimated $32,500 (each Rotac costs about $3,250) Anyone with infomation about the supect(s) or information about the thefts is encouraged to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS or the Polk County Sheriff's Office Agricultural Unit at 863-534-7205.
