Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery Detectives are seeking to identify a suspect responsible for the April 18, 2001 robbery of the Fleetwing store located at 742 South Combee Rd. in Lakeland. At approximately 8:00 p.m. an unidentified white male entered the Fleet Wing convenience store and approached the counter. The suspect then placed his hands into his jacket pocket and acted as if he was armed. The suspect ordered the clerk to remove money from the register, to which the clerk complied. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen walking across Combee Rd. in the direction of Lawndale Rd. The suspect is described as a white male, 5'9 to 5'10, a medium build with shoulder length brown hair. He was last seen wearing a tan windbreaker and dark jeans. No one was injured during the robbery and the suspect never displayed a weapon.
