Polk County Crime Stoppers
Polk County Sheriff's Office Agricultural Detectives are investigating the theft of numerous tires stolen from citrus trailers parked on the side of the road in local citrus groves. The thefts have occurred in the area South of Frostproof near the Polk/Highlands County lines. Thirty tires have been stolen within the last month, with the thefts normally occurring during the evening hours; 24 have been stolen from Gulfcoast Citrus Harvesting based in Labelle and 6 from Bently Brothers based in Winter Haven.  The tires are valued at approximately $300 each. 

Detectives are requesting assistance in locating possible suspects. Individuals with information may contact Deputy Sheriff Gene Smith or the Sheriff's Office Agricultural Unit at 534-6319.    

 A reward of up to $1,000 may be awarded for information leading to the arrest or indictment of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at
