BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT
Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit detectives are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred Jan. 25, 2002, at the First Union Bank located at 32959 US Highway 27 in Haines City. At approximately 3:47 p,m,, a black male entered the bank and handed the teller a note which stated "this is a robbery I want all the money." The robber walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash and headed north on US 27 in a silver Dodge Ram extended cab truck with chrome wheels and bumper and no tag. The suspect (pictured left) is described as a black male, 5'11" to 6', 165 to 185 pounds, wearing dark slacks, blue long sleeve shirt, light blue baseball cap, nylon wave cap, and wire frame glasses.
Detectives are seeking any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $2,000 reward is asked to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
