Robbery / Murder Suspect
Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking information concerning the whereabouts of a suspect who murdered Chaiman Patel and injured his wife, Hansa Patel, during an armed robbery of the Angel Food Store located at 1401 Hwy. 92 W. in Auburndale, on Friday, March 22, 2002.

The suspect, described as a slender black male possibly in his 20's, wearing a black “do rag” on his head, black cargo style pants and a black long sleeve shirt, and possibly having some gold teeth, entered the store at approximately 10:40 a.m. armed with a handgun.

After demanding money from the Patels, the suspect shot both victims, killing Chaiman Patel and injuring his wife.  He  then fled on foot from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of the suspect, wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $2,000 reward, is asked to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477). Anonymity is  Guaranteed!
