Polk County Crime Stoppers
Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives are seeking information concerning the whereabouts of a robbery suspect considered armed and dangerous. 

On June 20, 2002, at 6:00 am the suspect (seen in the photos here) entered the Comfort Inn Motel lobby at 44089 U.S. Hwy 27 N., Davenport, Florida.  He jumped over the counter, pointed a small caliber semi-automatic handgun at the clerk and directed her to open the cash register and then lay on the ground. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10/160, and at the time of the Robbery, was wearing a black Buccaneers jersey with Johnson #19, and dark sweat pants.  He fled on foot northbound and entered the Burger King Restaurant, where he changed his clothes to black jeans and a white t-shirt then fled in an unknown direction.

The subject in the bottom photograph is an unidentified B/M that entered the Hampton Inn thirty minutes prior to the Comfort Inn Robbery and inquired about rates.   This subject may possibly be involved in, or have knowledge about, the Comfort Inn Robbery.
