Polk
County Sheriff’s Office detectives are seeking information concerning the
whereabouts of a suspect wanted for armed burglary, kidnapping, aggravated
assault, aggravated stalking, and domestic battery.
The suspect, identified as Filiberto
Martinez, AKA Florentino Martinez-Hernandez, DOB 9/12/72, broke into 100
Mosley Road in Lake Alfred around 2:00 a.m. on August 8, 2002.
Martinez pulled a female victim (his ex-girlfriend) from bed and threatened
her with a knife. The victim, in fear for her life, agreed to go with
the suspect — he then put the knife down and pulled the victim outside.
Neighbors
helped the victim get away from Martinez and called the Polk County
Sheriff’s Office. Martinez fled on foot when Sheriff’s deputies
arrived on-scene.
Filiberto Martinez has a warrant for his arrest for this incident, and he is
being charged with: Armed Burglary, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault,
Aggravated Stalking, and Domestic Battery. Martinez is described as a
Hispanic male, 5’7”, 165 lbs., with a scar under his right eye. Anyone with
