Polk
County Sheriff’s Office Robbery detectives are seeking information
concerning the whereabouts of a robbery suspect wanted for the armed robbery
of the First Union National Bank located at 5720 Cypress Gardens Blvd. in
Winter Haven.
Deputies responded to the bank alarm
around 9:45 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2002. The suspect, a black
male, entered was wearing a dark hat, a black jacket with hood, gloves, and
a black bandanna wrapped around his face. The suspect entered through
the front lobby doors armed with an unknown type of handgun. He jumped
over the front counter and demanded money from a teller, threatening to
shoot her if she did not comply. When a bag of money was handed to the
suspect, he fled the bank on foot in an easterly direction.
