Information Sought: ARMED BURGLARY SUSPECT SOUGHT

Polk County Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives are seeking the public’s help in finding suspect Alton Ray West, DOB 4/18/59, wanted for committing an armed burglary and attempted armed robbery on September 5, 2002, at 2631 Gerties Road in Bartow.   West awoke the victim around 5:00 a.m. that morning by placing a gun to the victim’s neck and demanding money.  The victim began to struggle with West, whose face was covered, which caused the object covering West’s face to fall to the ground.  West fled the residence once his face was revealed to the victim.

Alton West was positively identified by the victim, and has a felony warrant for his arrest for Armed Burglary with Assault, and Attempted Armed Robbery.  West, seen in this photo, has a last known address of 3442 3rd Avenue in Bartow, and is described as 5’9” and 160 lbs.
