Polk County Crime Stoppers
Polk County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help in finding  witnesses to a homicide they believe occurred on Monday, September 16, 2002, at 1818 Oakhill Street in Lakeland, between 8:00 and 8:33 p.m.

Neighbors around that residence reported hearing gunshots and called the Sheriff’s Office.  Deputies responded to the area and found that all subject(s) involved had fled the scene.  Subsequently, the next day detectives determined that a man named Jessie Lisbon, DOB 9/1/80, of 2850 New Tampa Hwy in Lakeland, had gone to the Oakhill address and was involved in a drug-related robbery.  Lisbon has been missing ever since. 

The body of a black male was discovered by a passing motorist on Alderman Road, approximately 100 yards south of Swindell Road in Lakeland on Friday, September 20, 2002, around 6:00 p.m.  Further investigation and fingerprint records revealed:

  • The victim, seen here, is Jessie Lisbon, and he died as the result of a gunshot wound.
  • Lisbon and another subject intended on robbing occupants of the Oakhill address, and Lisbon was shot and killed in the process.


Detectives are still trying to locate witnesses to the robbery and/or murder, and the occupants of 1818 Oakhill Street.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Sheriff’s Detective Scott Rench at (863) 534-6379.
