Polk
County Sheriff's Office Robbery Detectives are seeking the public's help in
finding an armed robbery suspect identified as Rodney Deshun Smith, DOB
10/7/79, whose last known address was 6936 Wilson Avenue in Bradley.
On September 28, 2002, at 9:40 p.m., Smith entered the Winn Dixie
supermarket at 6902 South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, brandishing a
silver-colored semi-automatic handgun. Smith robbed the safe in the
manager's office, took an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled. He is
believed to be in an older model blue Delta 88, with the front grill
missing. The vehicle belongs to Christopher Green, AKA "T.T. Cook",
DOB 8/21/66, who may be accompanying Smith and is wanted for questioning in
this incident. Smith is possibly in the Pahokee area, in Palm Beach County near Okechobee.
He has prior arrests.
