County Sheriff's Office Homicide Detectives are seeking the public's help in
finding homicide suspects. On December 23, 2002, around 9:00 p.m.,
17-year-old Byron Dargon (DOB 4/28/85), of 6555 Old Lake Wilson Road, Lot
171 in Loughman, was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle on Parker Road
in Loughman, when occupants of another vehicle armed with handguns pulled up
beside him and fired several rounds.
In the vehicle with Dargon were two other men: Lemmi Dozier, DOB 12/24/75, of 230 Center Street, Loughman, and Tony Jackson, Jr., DOB 3/25/82, of 242 Center Street, Loughman. The victims described the suspect vehicle as a full-sized Chevrolet pickup truck with dark tinted windows and a darker colored front fender, with the word Chevrolet across the back tailgate, which fled and was last seen heading eastbound on Parker Road towards Hwy 17-92. The occupants of the truck were described as black males, and detectives are investigating the possibility that this incident is related to a shooting that occurred in Haines City the previous Friday, December 20, 2002. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact PCSO Homicide Detective Ken Raczynski at 1-800-226-0344. Anyone wishing to
remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward should contact Polk
