Polk County Sheriff's Office Central District detectives are investigating a string of boat motor thefts that have occurred in the Auburndale area in the last month. In some cases, the entire boat has been taken and then stripped of its motor before being abandoned. In other instances, the motors were stripped from the boats as they were parked on trailers or in the water.  Detectives are seeking information about the thefts, and are requesting assistance in locating possible suspects. Central District Detective Glenda Eichholtz is in charge of the investigation, and can be reached at 297-1153.
