Polk County Crime Stoppers
Polk County Sheriff’s Office Agricultural Crimes deputies are seeking the public’s help in finding at least one suspect responsible for the theft of thousands of dollars' worth of hand and power tools from different structures on Cargill Fertilizer property.

Sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2003, and 7:00 a.m. the following Monday, January 27, an unknown suspect(s) drove onto the property of Cargill Fertilizer, 4390 CR 640 West in Bartow.  Once there, the suspect(s) unlawfully gained entry into a pole barn and a storage facility and removed thousands of dollars' worth of hand and power tools, including hammers, wrenches, wrench sets, pliers, screwdrivers, and sockets.  Utilizing golf carts stored at the facility, the suspect(s) loaded the stolen property onto the carts and transferred it to the waiting vehicle.  The golf carts used in the crime were left on the scene, along with bolt cutters apparently used to gain entry into the facilities.  The estimated total value of the tools taken is approximately $3,000.

The suspect(s) committing these crimes faces felony charges of  Burglary of a Structure, and Larceny.
