Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are seeking the public’s help in finding suspects involved in the burglary of the Winn Dixie supermarket located at 6902 South Florida Avenue in Lakeland.

At around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2003, two unknown black male suspects threw a concrete block through the front window and entered the Winn Dixie carrying 4 trash cans.  Once inside, one of the suspects filled trash cans with cartons of cigarettes, and the other suspect broke into the locked manager's office and removed a shopping cart full of name-brand cigarette cartons.  Also stolen were several pieces of electronic equipment, including DVD players and televisions.  The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

These suspects may also be involved in several burglaries that occurred in the city of Lakeland, due to similarities in the method of entry and what was stolen.  For further information on those crimes, contact the Lakeland Police Department.
