Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a string of more than 20 cases of mailbox vandalism that have occurred over the last several months in the Poinciana area of Northeast Polk County. During the incidents, the suspect(s) typically smash/vandalize the mailboxes during the night, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. In addition to smashing the mailboxes, some have been stolen. Detectives are requesting assistance in locating possible suspects. Detective Roberts is in charge of the investigation, and can be reached at 534-6291.
