Polk County Sheriff's Office robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery in which an Auburndale man was shot in the leg while at a car wash last week. The robbery/shooting occurred on Dec. 22, 2003, at a car wash located at 3220 Recker Highway in Winter Haven. The suspect approached the victim while he was cleaning his vehicle, pointed a gun at him and demanded his money. The victim ran away and was shot in the leg area. The suspect then fled in the victim's vehicle, a light blue 1993 Lincoln, which was later recovered in the Winter Haven area. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9 to 5'11, with a medium build. Detectives are seeking any information about the robbery and shooting.
