County Sheriff's Office deputies are seeking the public's help in finding a
warrant suspect who fled deputies as they attempted to serve him with an
arrest warrant this morning. Cecilio Ramirez, DOB 12/01/78, of 5304 Spring
Creek Drive in Lakeland, was at his residence this morning when Warrant
Detective Chuck Hicks arrived around 8:00 a.m. and attempted to place him
under arrest. Ramirez fled through a window in the house, breaking it in the
process, and D/S Hicks jumped through the window after him. D/S Hicks
received lacerations to his scalp in the process, and was transported to
Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he received stitches and is expected
to make a full recovery.
Ramirez
is still at large, having fled into some nearby orange groves near the
Hillsborough County line. He is described as 6'1", 200 lbs., and he was last
seen wearing orange shorts. His warrant is for misdemeanor Domestic
Violence, and Failure to Appear Criminal Mischief.
