Robbery Detectives are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery of a
Circle K store early this morning. The suspect entered the store, located at
10704 U.S. Highway 98 North in Lakeland, at around 2:40 a.m. this morning.
He initially asked for a pack of cigarettes, and then pulled out a black
semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash. He then fled with an undisclosed
amount of money and the cigarettes. There were no injuries during the
incident. He is described as a black male, 35 to 45 years old, 5'8 to 5'10
in height, weighing approximately 200 pounds, and wearing beige pants, beige
shoes, white dress shirt, and black, gray and white windbreaker-type jacket.
He also was wearing a, red Tampa Bay Bucs hat with number "28" on the front
and "Dunn" on the back. Detectives are seeking any information about the
possible identity and location of the suspect. Anyone with information
about the suspect's possible identity or location is asked to call Polk
County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS. A cash reward may be awarded for
information leading to the arrest or indictment of the suspect.
