Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery Detectives are investigating an early morning armed robbery of a family. At around 1:35 a.m. this morning (Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003), a suspect approached a Lakeland couple and their two children (ages 7 and 10) as they arrived at their residence located on Memphis Road in Lakeland. After asking for directions, the suspect pulled a handgun, pointed it at the family, and demanded money.  After taking an undisclosed amount of money from the victims, the suspect fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident. Detectives are seeking any information about the robbery/suspect.
