Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for a suspect who fled from deputies today (Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003) and is wanted on numerous outstanding warrants. Nathan Eric Matthews, 18, of Frostproof, is wanted on warrants charging VOP Grand Theft Auto, VOP Burglary, FTA Trespassing and FTA Retail Theft. He also faces additional charges of Aggravated Fleeing To Elude and Grand Theft Auto for fleeing from deputies today in a vehicle stolen from Avon Park. After being spotted by deputies in the Frostproof area around 12:30 p.m. today, Matthews fled into Highlands County (Avon Park area), where he bailed on foot from the stolen vehicle and escaped. Detectives are seeking any information about the suspect's possible whereabouts. Anyone who has information about the suspect, and wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
