Polk County Crime Stoppers

Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking information about the grand theft of a 5-foot-tall bronze antique statue/fountain stolen from a residence in the Lakeland area. The statue is of a lady with arms outreached and holding a bowl, and is estimated at $10,000 (the photo to left is of a similar statue). The figure, which has a verdigris green patina, was stolen from the yard of the residence during the night hours of July 12, 2003. 

Anyone who has information about the stolen statue or possible suspect(s), and wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS. To speak to a detective, call Detective Mark Stroud at 499-2400.
