Polk
County Sheriff's Office Homicide Detectives are searching for a suspect (see
sketch) wanted for a violent double homicide that occurred Thursday
afternoon (Sept. 24, 2003) at a business warehouse center located on K-Ville
Avenue near Winter Haven. PCSO responded to the business at 3:11 p.m.,
and discovered the bodies of two victims who had been stabbed to death.
Investigators believe the incident began in Unit #5, where the suspect and
the male victim - Jeremy Jarvis, DOB 3/24/79, who had been living in
Unit #5, got into an altercation in which Jarvis was stabbed. Investigators
believe Jarvis ran down to Unit #1, which houses the offices of Total
Construction Management, and entered the building seeking help. He
encountered two female employees. One employee, 23-year-old Allison Sousa,
went to his aid and started to call 911. The second employee (name not
released as a safety precaution) went to retrieve a towel for the
victim who was bleeding profusely. As she was getting a towel, she heard her
co-worker yelling, and turned and saw the suspect and immediately locked
herself in an office and called 911. The suspect continued his attack,
killing Jarvis and Sousa. He also unsuccessfully tried to get into the
locked office prior to fleeing on foot . Detectives are seeking any
information about the possible whereabouts of the wanted suspect. He is
described as a white male, 6' tall, with dark hair, possibly in his 20s, and
was wearing a white shirt and gray shorts at the time of the attack.
Anyone with information about the suspect's possible location is asked to
call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
