Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred at the Connersville Bait and Tackle located at 3805 SR 60 East in Bartow.

At 9:25 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2004, two unknown black male suspects entered the store. One of the suspects pulled a small silver-colored handgun from his jacket pocket and pointed it at the owner, demanding money from the register.  The suspects forced the victim to remove the cash, and then forced him into the beverage cooler. Before fleeing, the suspects also removed the lottery ticket case from the business.

The suspects were described as: one in his early 30's, 5'8", 170-180 lbs., unshaven, wearing a brown toboggan and dark brown jacket; the other in his early 30's, 5'8", 170-180 lbs., wearing a dark jacket. The suspects fled in a small red pickup truck, with a large white or gray-colored spot on its side, between the passenger door and rear wheel. The vehicle fled west on SR 60, towards Bartow.
