Polk County Crime Stoppers
Polk County Sheriff's office detectives are investigating a string of business burglaries that occurred within a one-hour period during the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 17, 2004, in the Lake Wales area.

An unidentified suspect smashed through the glass doors of three Lake Wales businesses from 3-4 a.m., fleeing from each burglary with an undisclosed amount of cash. The businesses are: the Chevron Station located at Evergreen and Highway 60, the New Star Food Store located at 640 and Hwy 27, and the BP Station located at 60 and 27. Detectives are seeking any information about the burglaries and possible suspects.  Anyone who has information and wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
