Information Sought: THEFT OF MONEY ORDERS

Polk County Crime Stoppers
Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking information about the theft of money orders from two different locations.

On Friday, June 11, 2004, an unknown white male suspect ordered a money order in the sum of $225.07 from the clerk at the A-1 Discount, 1042 Berkley Road, and ran out of the store with the money order without paying for it. A similar incident occurred on June 20th at the Auburndale Food Store, 1115 Berkley Road. The money order in that incident was for $288.00. The suspect was seen fleeing in a blue 4-door Saturn, westbound on Old Dixie Hwy.

The suspect is a white male around 25 years of age, about 5'5" or 5"6", with dark hair. He can be seen in photos from video surveillance on website www.polksheriff.org.
