Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking
information on the whereabouts of two suspects wanted for an attempted
murder that occurred on September 18, 2004.
At around 5:20 a.m. that morning, the victim was asleep in his residence at
9420 County Line Road when he was awakened by 2 Hispanic male suspects, one
of whom was armed with a sawed off 12-gauge shotgun. The suspects demanded
money from the victim, and cut the victims hands and arms with a machete
when he did not comply with their demands.
The victim and two witnesses positively identified the suspects as:
Edward Murillo, Jr., DOB 6/9/80, of 9410 County Line Road, Lithia
Ramiro Rios, DOB 2/5/78, of 9017 County Line Road, Lithia
The suspects are to be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS. They both have
warrants for their arrest, charging them with Attempted Felony Murder, Armed
Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Rios).
